A blend that’s very recognisably in Yaacov’s style, with super ripe exotic fruit flavours that are magically balanced by nice fruit acids. Kudos too, for reigning in the Viognier in the blend – a variety that can easily surge to very high alcohols and lend an oily texture to the wines.
Full of dried apricot, sage and other Mediterranean herbs, this is a big character that shows a lot of upfront fruitiness. For some palates the ripeness might become wearing, but others will relish in its generosity and expressiveness. I’m sitting somewhere in the middle!
