Fritsch – Riesling Ried Mordthal Erste Lage 2020

You can almost touch and taste the crystalline rocks from the Mordhal vineyards here. The nose explodes with lemon and lime zest, crushed rocks and rock salt, and the palate has a sherbet-like crunch.
Energy exudes from this wine – it has an almost Mosel valley like excitement in terms of the acidity and the fruit. But it’s perhaps a shade riper, packing in a lot of depth and staying long on the finish.
Outstanding, and one to enjoy for at least the next 5 years.
