Golden Erd is a site that always shows quite a bit of ripeness and body. 2019 was no exception, and here there’s a lovely chalky texture that underpins the ripe fruit. But as is typical with this variety, the finish shows some almonds and a refreshing bitterness – keeping the wine perfectly in balance, with no feeling that it’s overbearing. That said, somehow the influence of the oak (used 600 litre barrels) feels a little too prominent here.
