This cuvée of international varieties opens with aromas of freshly grated lemon peel and a slightly stalky, green note – something which I find to be quite typical and not unattractive in wines from this part of Slovakia.
Super sharp and tangy on the palate, this is one for the acid junkies – guilty as charged. It’s a bit of a thrill, with concentrated citrus oils, a bit of mint and fresh herbs and a subtle creamy undertow.
It’s a jolt to the system in an entirely pleasurable way. Superbly fresh but also characterful and typical of its region. And it shows true Riesling energy!
