Thick skinned Rebula needs only 10 days of skin contact (as here) to create a seriously structured, complex wine. This standout vineyard selection from Borut Blazic is a textbook example of Brda/Collio Rebula – dense, slightly honeyed and full of twiggy underbrush and flavours – yet the pinsharp acids keep it wonderfully fresh and alive. Long ageing in barrel and bottle has really paid off too.

Drinking wonderfully right now, but this could easily be put to the back of the cellar and kept for 5-10 years (if you have the patience)
