Tangy and zesty, with a lifted, spiced character that leaves the mouth watering and the palate tingling. There’s lemon zest galore, a bit of unripe mango, and so much glorious acidity that this is exciting, persistent and long.

A rich and spicy Grüner, loaded with creamy fruit and a big, blowsy texture. There’s a sweet, honeyed note to the palate which is really attractive, combined as it is here with a nice acidic tang.
Heavy on the oak, with a buttery, creamy texture that is borderline cloying. There is acidity and freshness here, but arguably not enough to pull this wine back from its overly corpulent body.
For Heiligenstein this is quite a full bodied style, but with the delicate mineral salty and crushed rocks character that I know and love. Simplistic at the moment, but with a nice scented lime nose and everything in balance.
